The physio immediately banned me from deadlifting and any overhead weights, which meant I was out of action for a few weeks and would never regain the minimum strength needed to complete.
I was finally signed off to return to weights earlier this month, and I engaged a PT at the gym to help make sure I was doing things correctly so I didn't rush back in and injure myself!
I'm currently working on 3 sessions a week - a push, a pull and a legs session. It's scary how much strength I've lost but there's no rush to get it back. I have signed up for a comp next August, though am hoping to find something in the meantime.
I'm also looking forward to getting back to events training, once I'm no longer embarrassed about how little I can do!
